Rich Marcello has a long history in creativity. In New Jersey he was introduced to music and writing. He now lives in New England. Rich wrote his first songs while he studied at The University of Notre Dame. After managing several multi-billion dollar businesses for Fortune 500 companies he walked away to pursue music and writing. He has a love of poetry, music, and fiction books. When my fingers touched metal in chord formation, John looks up from the mixing console though the control room glass. At first I can’t hear him through the glass, but he catches himself and pushes a button.
“That guitar sounds fantastic! I’ve never heard one with such a rich tone.”
I nod once. Through the speakers, he sounds like the wizard from Oz.

John, with his love for sugar and occasional goofiness, is also mysterious at times with his piercing eyes and seemingly suffering from some unknown pain or loneliness.
The dialog between the characters Paige and John just flow and you feel in the room with them.
There are plenty of clashes between the two as Paige and John have different ideas and attitudes on the album project.
You will follow Paige as she learns from John despite her ego and rebellious nature. John also learns a lot from Paige. He learns to let go and make peace with his demons. Through Paige he learns to move on in life.

One of the things that's great about Paige is that she learns how to love in the deepest possible way by the end of the story.
While I won't give away the end of the story, the last page is one of the most inspiring things I've read in a long time.
For sure, this is Paige's story, but John is a pretty compelling character in many ways, and it's the contrast between the two that really drives the story forward.
The Big Wide Calm is a must read for any fan of music and the struggle to succeed. It’s perfect for those who love the idea of chasing down a dream with all your heart and learning life lessons along the way. It will be one of those books that stays with you long after you have read it.
