What do you think makes a great coloring and journaling book? The book needs to have an appealing cover and the coloring designs should be just as inviting as the cover.
What inspired you when creating Thought Journal & Mandala Coloring Book 1? I was inspired by the colored designs that other people have finished and that I’ve have been seeing on Facebook. They do some really amazing and creative coloring. The journal part came to me as a way to differentiate from other journals and coloring books.
What are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time? For now, I am doing this part time but do plan on adding, at least, 5 journals in this current style with slight differences. I plan to have these and 2-3 of one other style out by February.
When did you decide to become a writer? I have been for quite some time now, about 4 years. I started with a sports blog dedicated to my favorite NFL team and now have a personal blog that I write on: RomeoRocha.com
When creating Thought Journal & Mandala Coloring Book 1 did anything stand out as particularly challenging? The challenge in making these journals comes down to the font and deciding what size to go with.
How did you come up with methods and images in Thought Journal & Mandala Coloring Book 1? I took software-generated images and added the layer of randomness which is why they are in different sizes and in random positions.
What do you like to do when not writing and creating these books? I love to spend time outdoors – hiking, jogging, and/or walking. We live close to hills and mountains with plenty of areas where we can do this.
