  • As a very young writer, still trying to finish high school, I have certain priorities. However, I am plotting two more novels, one of them is already in the start of the first draft.

What do you think makes a great story?
  • A great story is not made up from one recipe, that's were I believe many makes a mistake. If you know the rules, then you can break them, especially if you know how it will enhance the story. A great story is one that takes you and drag you in when you least expect it, contains questions, but also harness answers. I still remember my english teacher giving me an C+ on my short story, when I asked the teacher why, I was answered that it was a terrific story, but it didn't follow the short story rules. Do you wanna read a predictable story? or create something truly original?

What inspired you when writing Hanging by the Rope?
  • The true inspiration to write my book was injustice, unfairness and un-balance in society. It was something I continually thought about, and continuously was a part of. We see that one classmate that deserves more, but is threatened with less. It was a topic I wanted to tackle, because it's not always that easy to talk about, especially in a western society where we are given everything on a plate, but still feel very unsatisfied with our lives. We often connect selfishness and weak with this topic, but it’s perfectly normal. A rich society is the perfect example that money doesn’t always buy happiness.

What are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time?
  • Honestly I haven't really thought that far. After finishing the book I was quite surprised with the amount of fuel and fun I had with it, but if it is something I would do full time, every day? I can’t really tell. It’s for sure a profession I respect, and I’m sure if I find it rewarding enough, I could probably do it full time.

When did you decide to become a writer?
  • It wasn't really much of a decision, I just started to write a short story on the topic a year back, and before I knew it, I was 20 pages in and only on the first act. I then just decided to write it to a proper novel. It just became what it became.

When writing Hanging by the Rope did anything stand out as particularly challenging?
  • I think the thing I found particularly challenging was writing and explaining the main protagonists thoughts and behaviour. Why this is hard in writing, is because everyone is taught the same rule, “Show, don't tell.” It’s a good rule to make the reader think and engaged in the story, however it falls short if you wanna dive into mental behaviour. So I decided to do the book my way, to tell a lot from a mental perspective, but to still write much of the physical in a way that became more visual than narrative.

How did you come up with the story of Hanging by the Rope?
  • The story really came together with experiences from my life. It contains a lot of thoughts and narrative that is actual complains from me to the society, and it just became a good read i think when i putted it down on the paper. So I guess that the origin of the story was to just delve into myself, pick up certain personal moral dilemmas and ethical problems that i found most people would disagree about in society, and then the physical story with the characters just became natural part and fill.

What do you like to do when not writing?
  • When I don't write I like to engage myself into stories, if it's socially with friends sharing personal experiences or if it is just sitting at home with a good film. All in all I just like good stories and I think most people like it too. For me, the format doesn’t really matter too much.

How can readers discover more about you and your work?
  • If readers find my book interesting I would highly recommend them to follow my author's page on facebook that I just got up and running. It will future more content of my current debuting book, as well as new novels. I’m sure to also engage and talk to people in the comment section of my page, I sure love a good debate on sensitive topics. While not as active, you can find me on twitter as well.
