The newcomer author delivers a personal journey into his rise and demise as a St. Louis City Police Officer. He takes the readers on a roller coaster ride of good old family memories to the nightmarish reality of being a police officer indicted on federal drug charges. During his trial, he wrote memoirs as a testimonial of redemption. Roland's case stems from the conflict of his childhood affiliation and his oath to uphold the law. What is certain one can't run from sin for karma is much faster.  The author actually wrote the novel years ago however after battling Lupus he lost his motivation to complete it. Promising his mother, Fumi Karasawa, who recently passed that he would finish what he started. Roland opened his computer to complete telling his story. • Pernicious: True Evil (Author Interview)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082J4BJVL  Pernicious: True Evil looks like a really scary book.  One of the few covers that actually gets me scared. Will this be turned into a series or do you only plan for the one book?             I am glad you think it looks like a scary book! That was exactly the vibe I was going for when it came to the cover. Pernious is part of a 3 book series. Book 2 will be released by the end of 2020. What can you tell us about the character Astra? Astra is a person with a good heart and a difficult past. She is a gifted girl who doesn’t realize just who she has the ability to become. She has a difficult time trusting strangers and tends to put up a wall. When she first arrives on the planet, she is understandably afraid and isn’t very good with her survival skills. Through the book you see her journey and growth to becoming not only a skilled survior, but quite a strong woman. What inspired you when writing Pernicious: True Evil?    My travels and listening to music helped inspire me when writing the book. It stimulated my imagination which helped me to escape into this world that I created. Why did you decide to become a writer? Writing for me is an escape. It is the ability to get out everything that I want to say and need to say in a way that also allows me to immurse myself in a fantasy world. How did you come up with the story in Pernicious: True Evil? As a child I was always fascinated with demons and fantasy creatures. I would get lost in my daydreams, which would lead me to getting in trouble a lot at school, since I wasn’t paying attention to the teachers. I began writing this book as an outlet to my imagination. Though I stopped writing it after 90 pages, I picked it back up as an adult and rewrote it to the creation that it is now. Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Pernicious: True Evil? What I found to be the most challenging would definently have to be when I was trying to explain the world the way I saw it in my head. I wanted to write something that made the reader feel as if they were Astra, experiencing this world the way she is. What do you like to do when you are not writing? I love traveling all over the world and taking photographs of my travels. Where can you find these photographs of your travels? I post them on my social media sites like Instagram (Thetravelingfantasywriter) and facebook (authorangelikakoch). Are you working on any other books right now? Yes, currently I am working on 3 different book series, including Pernicious. As of right now, Pernicious is the only one that is available, but the others will be released in the next year or two. • Thirst Trap (Author Interview)

www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZL4DSC7 Thirst Trap looks like a great gay/bi romance book.  Any change this will be turned into a series?   Honestly, no. I think I’ve have had to say everything I needed to say about these characters in this book. They have a complete story arc in this book, and I don’t leave much left to be tied up. I think dragging it out would be a complete waste of my time and yours. Can you tell us a little about the four main characters? Dillion is dealing with his brother’s death. It was so sudden, and he feels like he shouldn’t be tied down. He’s terrified if he lets people in that they will also go away. He also is trying to be a writer, but he’s still stuck on his brother’s death. He doesn’t want to disappoint people. Jessie is dealing with his boyfriend’s suicide. He wants to be the party goer, but he hates that his boyfriend isn’t there. He doesn’t want to be the most broken of the friend group. He’s also dealing with his dad and his broken relationship. He wants a close relationship with his father, but he’s had a wall up against him. Ivan is dealing with being in an abusive relationship. He was an orphan, and he’s trying to find a forever home. He thinks it’s with his boyfriend, but he learns that it’s not it. He’s continued to be beaten down and belittled. He wants to know he can have a constant in his life with people around him. Leo is dealing with his marriage falling apart. He has always been about people talking about their emotions, but he won’t show his own. He’s also trying to keep a happy ending for his father because his mother died, and he thinks his happy marriage would be his marriage.     What will readers get out of your book? Being able to move on from tragedy. I also think that we should be able be open to people when we’re hurting. I think we should be able to be vulnerable especially with our closest friends. I think that’s the major theme of this novel. What inspired you when writing Thirst Trap?    My friends and my life in Chicago. I wrote a novel called Letters, and it was my life moving to Chicago and me coming out. I’ve been through so much since I wrote that novel, and I wanted to continue that with Thirst Trap. It’s about the beautiful humans I’ve met along the way. When did you decide to become a writer? I’ve been writing my whole life. I’ve been writing short stories since I was eight. I don’t think I decided to be a writer. It was something that I just have been doing my whole life. When writing Thirst Trap did anything stand out as particularly challenging?    I didn’t want it to be too close to my friends. I wanted to be able have creative freedoms without worrying about my friends looking bad. What do you like to do when not writing? Honestly, I’m hanging out with my fiancé and my friends. I’m also a bartender, so I’m in that huge culture. I also binge watc... Readmore

  • Get That Job! (Author Interview)

www.amazon.com/dp/B082DRMJC8/   ‘Get That Job!’ is a #1 Best Seller on Amazon, congratulations!  Can you tell us why the book is such a hit among your readers?             I think it is very easy to read and provides a simple guide to help you gain confidence when going into your next job. How long did it take you to write ‘Get That Job!’? Probably about six months. I’ve had it done for a while, and just needed to build the confidence to put it out there. It’s kind of an intimidating process if you’ve never done it before. But now I’ve got my first book out, I will continue to develop more books. What inspired you when writing ‘Get That Job!’?   The students at the college have inspired me to write books. They come with questions and concerns about different challenges they face, and I felt that if they were feeling this way, then the majority of college students will most likely be feeling the same way. Do you get a lot of success stories from your readers? My book has been out for just over a month, so yes, I’ve had some great feedback. Particularly, those that are unfamiliar with video interviews. And, basically those that need to prepare prior to and during one. How did you come up with the ideas in ‘Get That Job!’? I thought about all the challenges our students face and what information they would need to help them be successful. Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing the book? Just trying to keep it simple for young readers of all skills and reading abilities. What do you like to do when not writing? I love to work. So, usually I try to focus on different current projects I’ve got going on. Whether it involves my nonprofit, AfrikRising or something else I have going on at my 8 to 5 job. I also like going on trips to Mexico, and spending quality time with my boys. Where can readers find out more about your work? They can visit me at: https://tipstostartingcollege.com Readmore
