Where Will You Go, Ricky Jo? (Author Interview)

‘Where Will You Go, Ricky Jo?’ looks like a great children’s book filled with adventure.  Any plans to turn it into a series?

That’s the ideal goal, although I wasn’t thinking along those lines when I wrote. The story line certainly can be extended to all corners of the world.

How did you come up with story in ‘Where Will You Go, Ricky Jo?’

First and foremost, our little Chihuahua like to wander off the yard quick often. Secondly, my wife and I travel quite often and there is just so much to see and experience.

What will readers get out of your book?

I hope a sense of adventure and the benefits of reading to your child or grandchild.

What inspired you when writing ‘Where Will You Go, Ricky Jo?’

Our travels. We’ve been to six continents and hope to see the seventh.

When did you decide to become a writer?

I wrote a little in my teens, but most of my writing was born in advertising. I have been a copywriter for 40 years.

When writing ‘Where Will You Go, Ricky Jo?’  did anything stand out as particularly challenging?

Developing a nice rhythm and connecting with the illustrations.

What do you like to do when not writing?

I’m a golfer, traveler and I enjoy spending time with my wife Nancy.

Where can readers find out more about your work?

It’s available on Amazon and from Rickyjo.com. Copies on my website are signed.
