Phantom Knights looks like a great story. Can you tell us a little about Katrina Throne?
Katrina is my spirit animal. Her wicked
sense of humor and relaxed attitude is infectious. She is best described as a
fearless harpy warrior with honor. Katrina, aka Kat, knows sacrifice and pain,
but what she doesn’t know is love. The harpy focuses a lot of her time protecting
humanity from immortals, rather than her own happiness. I’m hoping through all
her hardships she will get her happily ever after.
That’s an amazing
cover. Can you tell us a little about
it?
I completely swooned when my designer
sent me the first draft to my cover. I described it as a kick ass Laura Croft figure
with lightning going up her arm, and my designer captured my vision perfectly. The
image features Kat, the first harpy introduced in my Knights series.
What inspired you when
writing Phantom Knights?
My writing journey began when I was
pregnant with my son. It is said women have vivid dreams when carrying a baby,
and in this case, it was true. I dreamt of a strange world with funny looking
characters. Two people stood out in my dream. One was a woman dressed in all
black, and the other was a woman who could control lightning. I woke up and
started writing as much as I could remember before the image faded. It took me
two years to actually create a book out of the short dream, but I am so glad I
did. My readers continue to push me to write more stories. As long as one
person connects with my series, I’ll keep writing.
Did anything stick out as
particularly challenging when writing Phantom Knights?
Like most aspiring authors, we start as
readers. I majored in accounting because writing was the dream I never knew I
had. Because of this, all the experience I had writing a book came from
reading. My imagination is endless. I developed the story plot and executed
four books in a year and a half; however, I still have yet to master proper
editing skills. That’s why hiring an expert is so important.
Overcoming procrastination is also quite
difficult. Being a mom and working full-time, it’s hard to find time to write,
and when I do, social media becomes my best friend - not a keyboard.
What do you like to do
when not writing?
In my downtime, I always tend to return
to my first love, and that’s reading. I’ve also started exercising, which helps
me clear my head.
Where can readers find out
more about your work?
You can find my series on amazon. Search
the words Phantom Knights Series, and the first three books will be available
for purchase. Thank you all, and I look forward to welcoming more Knights to
the team. Happy reading.
