Train of Thoughts looks like a fantastic
collection of your writings. Can you tell us more about it?
Train of Thoughts is a collection of poems and essays that
talk about the human condition. It is
meant to start conversations about what we perceive as normal for ourselves as
it often contradicts what is going on in other parts of society leaving us to be
more empathetic to other people and the life they experience that may be much
different that what was assumed.
How long did it take you to write “Train of
Thoughts”
I began writing “Train of Thoughts” a year after releasing
my first full collection of poems entitled “Universal Colloquies Inside of
Me”. Life happens so it took a little
longer than expected to complete plus the thoughts kept coming.
What inspired you in writing “Train of
Thoughts”
Life served as the inspiration. As adults we have to filter through so much
information while also figuring out our lives and trying to be contributing
members of society, we start to realize there are things that we didn’t know,
were never told or things that we need to recognize about ourselves to help
ourselves heal from past trauma and create better lives for ourselves and just
grow as individuals. When we stop to
realize how much we have actually been through it’s like watching a train go by
just one thought after the other all linked together by different things and
situations.
What will readers get out of your book?
The thing that I would like readers to get from this book is
we all have power over what we think. As
children we are told what to think but as adults you find out that life is a
complicated mess for everyone. We sort through and deal with whatever hand life
has dealt us and we decide what to do with it based on the choices we have
available but also understanding that not everyone has the same set of choices
to choose from but there is usually more than one way to get to an answer
Tell
us a little bit about yourself.
