Ask No Questions, Hear No Delusions looks like a collection of great shorts.  Can you tell us a little about them?

The stories are about people who have egos and expect good things happen to them. When they don’t get what they want out of life, that they believe they are entitled to, they start to make questionable decisions. The stories get into what they want and the lengths that they take to make it happen, until they are hit with a spanner.

Any plans to turn it into a series?

Yes, most likely. I have many smiler ideas, that I will come back to if they can't be written into a future novel. The short stories get straight into the storyline. Some writers can drag out similar stories to these into a novel itself, but with a lot of unnecessary content and detail. I picture each short story as the length of a movie. Which is not bad eh, a book with 10 stories worthy of 10 films.

How long did it take you to write Ask No Questions, Hear No Delusions?

Two years, which isn’t that long for a debut novel. I wrote a few stories in-between other projects. I didn’t really have any plans on making it into a book, as I felt the other work I had been working on was better. But then I wrote my favourite story from the book, then in quick succession I wrote another two stories and I knew I had something. I then had to develop the other stories so they were at the same level as these 3 were.

Thats an amazing cover.  Can you tell us a little about it?

The cover shows the delusional aspect of an ego, if you keep telling yourself something then you will believe it to be true and reasonable. And the cover shows that evil delusional side that we all have, it’s just whether we want to listen to it or not.

What inspired you when writing Ask No Questions, Hear No Delusions?

I had some ideas for stories but I couldn’t get the depth to make into a novel, sounds obvious. But I loved the twist that each story had so I still had to write them, so it was the twists that really inspired them.

What will readers get out of your book?

They will get suspense for sure and a gratified twist at the end of each one. They might also have fun guessing what each title might tell about the story, in some cases it might be completely misleading. In opinion would be a good thing, when the story completely trails off into something intriguing and peculiar.

Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Ask No Questions, Hear No Delusions?

It was important to still build characters, even though the stories were short. Depth was still important, but too much detail would slow the storyline down.

What do you like to do when not writing?

I work my full time job and spend time playing with my car obsessed son.
