Infinity Virus looks like an exciting story. Can you tell us a little about it?

Thanks, I’m so proud of this book. It’s a sci-fi thriller that follows Virologist Diana Bradley and her family as they run from an unknown enemy. She’s the only one in the world who knows how to stop the deadly pandemic that’s crossing the globe. It’s full of twists and turns. Just when you think you know what’s happening, something changes.

How many books do you plan for the series?

It’s going to be a three-book series, but there are tentative plans for another series based on this world. I just haven’t decided if it will use these characters or take a whole new direction.

What inspired the idea for your book?

I’ve had this book idea and the main characters in a rough sketch for about ten years. I always thought my story line was too unbelievable. No one would believe a pandemic would shut the world down. It’s actually based a lot on stories I heard from great aunts and uncles about the Spanish flu. I was lucky to have heard tales from some who live through it as an adult, some as a child, some in the city and some in the country. I always wondered what would happen if that were to occur today. Then Covid hit, and I decided I had to write it now.

Can you tell us a little about Diana?

Diana is an extremely intelligent woman. She loves her husband and her children deeply, and she’s fulfilled in her job. She’s someone who was content to raise her son alone until she met her husband. I wanted to make her a character that could stand on her own. She deeply loves her husband and chooses to be with him, but she’s not some damsel in destress that needs him to save her. In fact, she saves him.

Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Infinity Virus?

The most challenging thing was finding the time to write. I home school my 15-year-old son who’s autistic and I have an active 3-year-old boy. The story has been in my head so long that it felt good to get it out on paper.

What do you like to do when not writing?

I love to read, garden, cook and spend time with my family. I have two older children that live far away. My daughter has given me two lovely granddaughters and my son is still young and single. I love to travel to see them, when they come to see me or just speak with them on the phone. Then I also live near my many cousins, with whom I’m extremely close. I also hang out with my mother-in-law, who lives with us. We share so many things in common and we love to talk about sci-fi or just garden together.
