Can you tell us a little about Sopo Hatches?

The book follows the life cycle of Sopo the Frog, a cute little red-tree frog hatch in the Amazon rainforest. The story is full of colorful rainforest animals that play together in love and harmony. The book emphasizes the importance of education, respecting friends and family, practicing good hygiene habits, and taking care of our planet.

What motivated you to write the book?

Sopo Hatches was originally written to be a freebie and promotional item given with the purchase of our patented packaging, the Sopo the Frog (S’tick O’n P’ull O’ff) Dispensers that contains children’s 3in1 organic-natural shampoo, conditioner and body wash. People that read the manuscript thought it was so creative that I should publish it on Amazon. So, instead of giving the book away with purchase we are giving a Sopo the Frog bath mitt.

What age group did you write the book for?

2-10 years old

Can you tell us a little about Sopo?

Sopo the Frog has many live experiences and lessons to impart to children. Among many other attributes, Sopo the Frog is an ambassador for everything good. Being a good person, respecting others, maintaining a positive attitude, never give up on your dreams, the power of persistence and the will to succeed regardless of obstacles are just a few life experiences and lessons she will impart.

How long did it take you to write Sopo Hatches?

I spent many years in advertising and wrote copy and jingles. The rhyming text came very quickly and took a few hours. The tweating of the original text was a few days and illustrations took a few weeks.

Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Sopo Hatches?

No, the verse came to me quickly.

What do you like to do when not writing?

I’m a 78 year old veteran Navy fighter pilot, former advertising career followed by 33 years as a Realtor. Seven years ago got the idea for the SOPO Dispenser packaging/wall dispenser. Between my active real estate career and SOPO’s thousands of hours of research and development, the process of patenting SOPO and securing the Trademark, Better for You. Better for Earth. I spend about 80 hours a week.
