• Make Me Believe

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BSM3XKY9Many of us believe in the power of God manifested in the form of prayer. However, if you don’t,read “Make Me Believe” by Jeremy Hahn and I’m sure you will change your mind. This is a powerful, true story of a man on the brink of death. His wife, 7 months pregnant, facedthe death of her husband and the daunting task of welcoming her son to the world without afather. On a normal day, joyfully awaiting the arrival of their first son, Jeremy suddenly fell ill. Hiswife rushed home from work to take him to a clinic to get some answers, and from there, theirworld got flipped upside down. One moment, it was a simple flu, and the next, Jeremy wasdying. Multiple sudden and rapidly worsening illnesses took over Jeremy’s body over the nextfew days and to the unbelieving heart, healing was an impossibility. Thankfully Jeremy wassurrounded by many people who believed. People who believed in hope, healing, and the powerof prayer, even when the doctors caring for Jeremy did not.Jeremy, in pain and the darkness of a coma, was surrounded by a group of prayer warriors. Inthe hospital, in the state, and around the world, thousands of believers lifted Jeremy up to theHeavenly Healer. While steeped in the “void” of his coma, Jeremy had an encounter with Godlike no other. Jeremy describes the Holy Spirit as a part of his inward being, “attached like glue”to his person. While Jeremy had given up hope and in his unconsciousness began begging Godto end his life, end his pain, end his darkness, God revealed the many prayers being prayedover Jeremy at that exact moment. Jeremy describes this experience as a sort of galaxy ofprayer, like comets swirling about him in the darkness. After wrestling with God and hearinghundreds of prayers, Jeremy finally surrendered to the life God had for him. Jeremy decided tokeep fighting, for his wife, his son, and more. After this experience Jeremy awoke from the coma, and God began a miraculous, speedyhealing in Jeremy’s body. When doctors told him his recovery would take months and likelynever be complete, Jeremy walked in the first few days. The medical team couldn’t explain this, but Jeremy could. It was the power of God and the power of prayer. From there, God worked inJeremy’s life to allow him to be at his son’s birth, get off medication, pay off medical debt, andcontinue serving.“Make Me Believe” is a story about a man on the brink of death, but it is so much more. It is thestory of miracles and answered prayers. Jeremy’s life is a beautiful example of how God’sgoodness and grace can wash over a life despite what we may believe. God has a plan and apurpose for every life, and Jeremy’s story will make you believe in the miracle of prayer. Readmore

Follow along on a rhyming journey as students share about the heroes in their lives.  Currently there are 4 books in the series with the 5th and 6th on the way.  The first book, A Hero Wears a Sheriff’s Badge, followed by A Hero Drives an Ambulance, A Hero Wears a Trooper’s Hat, A Hero Wears Pilot Wings, with Everyday Hospital Heroes coming out in February and the 6th will be a surprise to the readers.  Anyone can be a mentor or hero to someone, so I expect the series to grow as I add new careers. What motivated you to write the series? I produced a monthly video called Story Time with Jeffery D Paden.  It’s a bimonthly video show on YouTube and Facebook featuring the Sheriff, his staff and friends of the Sheriff's Office reading children's books. Topics vary but include safety, bullying, gun safety and many other educational stories. Story Time was the inspiration for writing my first book, A Hero Wears a Sheriff's Badge.  When I began writing I didn’t plan to have a series, but as I wrote more stories came to mind.  Every book written so far have been about someone special in my life that has been a true hero to me.  What age group did you write the book for? The series was written for all age groups; however, I would say that the demographics for the series are for ages 5-12 How long did it take you to write Career Day at School? The first book in the series, A Hero Wears a Sheriff’s Badge took approximately 6 months to complete and the other 3 books in the series took approximately 2 months each.  I am currently working on a 5th and 6th book in the series at this time and I would expect the 5th book “Everyday Hospital Heroes” to be finished in February 2023. Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Career Day at School? I would say the challenging part to writing a series is to not duplicate what I’ve already said and coming up with new material to keep the rhymes fresh.  What do you like to do when not writing? I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling and trap shooting, including competitive trap shooting.Where can readers find out more about your work? Readers can find the books on amazon.com by searching Career Day at School, the Best Day of the Year! Editorial Review for The Ole Antmythopoeia: An Incomplete Trilogy

The Ole Antmythopoeia spins a wild tale about a mythical world of ants, influenced by a metafictional video game setting. This narrative spins a story around Airen Tony Coleman, an ant in a complex metafictional universe. The plot thickens as it unfolds into layers of myths, adventures, and existential journeys that transcend typical storytelling, challenging readers to piece together the narrative from a scattered and intricate puzzle.

The strength of this book lies in its audacious approach to narrative structure, blending myths with a video game aesthetic in a way that's rarely seen. The creativity in storytelling is palpable, showcasing a mastery in crafting a universe that's as bewildering as it is engaging. The philosophical underpinnings add a depth that encourages readers to think about the nature of existence and reality, which are presented in a refreshingly unconventional format.

The novel fits snugly into the genre of experimental metafiction, reminiscent of works that break traditional narrative forms to offer new reading experiences. It taps into contemporary trends of gaming and complex narrative layers, appealing to a niche but growing segment of readers fascinated by such narrative complexities.

This book will likely resonate with readers looking for something out of the ordinary. Fans of intricate plots like those found in the works of Neal Stephenson or the philosophical ponderings of Philip K. Dick will find this a compelling read. It's particularly suited for those who appreciate video games, existential questions, and non-linear storytelling.

The Ole Antmythopoeia is not for the faint-hearted or those looking for a straightforward plot. Instead, it offers a labyrinthine journey through a richly crafted metafictional universe that demands attention and thought. For those willing to dive into its complexities, it promises a rewarding, albeit challenging, experience.
