What do you think makes a good story?

A story becomes good when readers are taken on a journey that educates them, allows them to empathize with the characters, and inescapably makes them ponder the relevance of the story to themselves.

Which writers/books inspired you when writing Court On Mount High?

One author that has inspired me is Dr. Wayne Dyer, especially his book Magic; I have learned a lot about living my life spiritually.

What are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time?

I would like to be able to write full time and, of course, to have my books recognized nationally.

When did you decide to become a writer?

In my late twenties I found it disturbing that poorer neighborhoods in my town received far fewer services and upkeep of infrastructure than the wealthier neighborhoods. I decided to write to give a voice to those who have no way of speaking out for themselves.

When writing Court On Mount High did anything stand out as particularly challenging?

One of the greatest challenges for me was to make an imaginary world seem real.

How did you come up with the story of Court On Mount High? The plot came from a life-long observation of nature and my growing concern over endangered species. Growing up, frogs, toads, and bees were commonplace. Today, my grand-children hardly ever see these creatures.

What do you like to do when not writing? My hobbies are reading, antiquing, and learning about vintage cars.
