What motivated you to write Sweet Dreams Baby Lion?  My oldest daughter Chara. When she was 2 she asked me to make her her own story. She told me I was her mommy lion and I could make her the bestest story. And that night Sweet Dreams Baby Lion was created.

What do you think makes a great children's story? A great adventure for the imagination. Something that inspires children to go outside of what they see and makes them believe that they can be the impossible.

Which writers/books inspired you when writing Sweet Dreams Baby Lion?  Pete Seegers "Abiyoyo" is my favorite childhood story. The story was first told to me by a griot when I was 7. I later found the book in a store when I was 12. I love the imagination of such a story and hope to have captured a glimpse of Server's greatness.

Don't get me started with J. R. R. Tolkien. His series of book completely astonished me. I can only hope to one day delve into that type of writing. Completely out of this world. So amazing.

What are your ambitions for your writing career?  Full time? Part time? I hope to become a well-known author. I really love the written word. Writing feels like a gift sometimes, it's a great power of expression to transform thoughts as I speak through different characters feels magical. I have another book available called The Power of Hello. It's a different part of my endless imagination. It's geared more towards teens. It's a narrative about a teenage girl overcoming her fears and making best friends and being bullied and finally becoming herself. My hope is that it causes our youth to think about better ways to handle themselves.

When did you decide to become a writer? Probably when I was twelve. I read an article that compeletly changed my life. I loved that while I was reading this article I could see the words come to life  through the descriptions given by the writer. I could literally see the broom sweeping the hot dry ground  and I could hear the voices of the schoolgirls chattering in the background while the old men sang songs from their fathers. It was then that I realized I wanted to replicate that. Give that to other people with my thoughts and with my words. Cause people to think about life from my perspective through my stories. In my other book The Power of Hello I express this perspective in my hope for change.

When writing Sweet Dreams Baby Lion did anything stand out as particularly challenging?  The challenge for me was  receiving my daughter's approval.  She is so young so she can be brutally honest. I was overcome with emotion when my first born child, my baby told me she loved it and asked me to read it again. I knew then that I had accomplished my goal.

How did you come up with the story of Sweet Dreams Baby Lion? My daughter really loves animals, she went through this phase where she was a baby lion and I was her mommy lion. At that time bedtime was the hardest time of day, so when she asked me to write her her very own story Sweet Dreams Baby Lion was born.

What do you like to do when not writing? Cook. I love to cook all types of food for my family and friends and strangers. I hope to open an eatery one day. I enjoy filling the house with the scent of yumminess. From chopped bbq sandwiches to my layered lemon love cheesecake. I think the method for writing coexist with cooking for me. The line up of what comes next until the final product reveals itself.

How can readers discover more about you and your work?

I post daily on Twitter. My Twitter handle is @summergh the same for my Instagram. I'm also on Facebook the link is https://www.facebook.com/powerndreams/

I'm an open book, if anyone has a question they can ask. I hope to inspire someone to feel good about themselves as they are. I know it can be a struggle but with positive reassurance we all can achieve our dreams but we have to believe!
