1. Magical Eyes is your first published book. Do you plan for any follow-ups?
My plan is to start working on my second novel, 13 O’Clock. The setting and storyline of this middle-grade story will be completely different from Magical Eyes. The novel will be about a girl who is kidnapped and taken to a highly polluted planet, and her only hope of returning home is a peculiar clock.
As far as a second Magical Eyes’ book….Maybe, why not? I already have some ideas in mind!

2. What do you think makes a great story?
A great story hooks the readers and refuses to let them go. It must have engaging plots, but also, memorable characters that will stay in the hearts of the readers after they turned the last page of the book.

3. What inspired you when creating the main character of Magical Eyes?
The movie Frozen. It was an amazing story for young kids. Elsa and how she was able to create ice and snow enchanted me. I wanted my main character to have magical power. My love for the beach was the second inspirational element. When I combined the two together, Princess Martina was born – a girl with the magical ability to manipulate sand.

4. What are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time?
I want to be a full-time writer. In the next year or two, I would like to publish my second book. I’d love for one of my books to grow beyond the letters on a piece of paper. Who knows…everything is possible in life when you dream big!

5. When did you decide to become a writer?
When my family of two sons was joined by a little girl. It was that sweet, energetic, and charming girl the one who took me back to the wonderful world of fairytales. To the fantasies, to the princesses, and to the sparkling magic that she has brought to my life, I owe the inspiration to become a writer and create my first novel.

7. When writing Magical Eyes did anything stand out as particularly challenging?
Writing about the Horse Master Competition was challenging. I had to learn about the different types of event, jumps, horses gaits and even the different sounds that the horses make to express their emotions. It was an adventurous ride.

8. How did you come up with the story of Magical Eyes?
One day, I sat in front of my computer and let my imagination take over. I only wrote two pages that day. But it was enough to realize that I was ready to write a fantasy story that young readers would enjoy.

9. What do you like to do when not writing?
I enjoy exercising and visiting new countries. But if I can describe a perfect day, it is as simple as sitting at the beach with my husband and my three amazing kids. It relaxes my mind, it gives natural music to my ears, and it recharges my batteries. Of course, always add a quirky book to the picture.
