The Wolf’s Lair looks like a great book. What can you tell us about it?
The Wolf’s Lair is about what if Adolf Hitler escaped Germany during the second world war and made his way to Argentina. The super powers of the 50s find out and send in secret agents into the South American country to find and assassinate Hitler. The Wolf’s Lair is the story of that secret mission.
Any plans to turn it into a series?
I won’t turn it into a series, per se, but each one of my books is set in the same universe. In my universe of books there’s a moment in time where that’s the catalyst of human history, and some books are after that moment and others are before; The Wolf’s Lair is before. You can read my books out of order, for there is no order, it’s just stories of the history of humanity set in my own universe.
What scene did you have the most fun writing?
There’s a submarine fight scene early in the book, and that was the most fun to write. I did research on how submarine fights happen, the terminology that’s used, and who does what. It was a lot of fun to write. The whole book was fun to write, though. It’s an action packed adventure with soul, so I had great fun writing it.
What inspired the idea for the book?
There has always been a rumor that Hitler survived the war and made his way to Argentina. A ton of Nazis escaped to that country, so why not Hitler? There is one picture of him from the 50’s, or at least most people believe that it is him, and I thought why not write a book about the secret mission to assassinate him. So I did.
How did you come up with the title for the book?
The Wolf’s Lair is a reference to Hitler’s base in Germany during the war. So it just made sense to me to make it the title of his new base in Argentina.
Did anything stick out as particularly chllenging when writing The Wolf’s Lair?
Finding the balance between fast base action, and letting the reader into the world of the four agents. Each agent is different, with different emotions, so it was hard, but rewarding, to flesh out each one and still have the books pacing be good.
What do you like to do when not writing?
I read. I love reading. I always have a book I am reading, and I tend to read around 40 books a year. Right now I am reading, The 12th Planet. I highly recommend it.
